Dr. Paula Southerland
DVM

A true Ohio native, Dr. Paula Southerland was raised in Kings Mills and is proud to serve her local community. Her journey into veterinary medicine is a testament to her compassion; after spending years caring for her father, she decided to turn her lifelong love for animals into a career.

​

After completing her undergraduate degree at the University of Cincinnati, she traveled to St. George’s University for her doctorate and finished her clinical training at Auburn University. Dr. Southerland’s early career in shelter medicine shaped her mission: ensuring that every pet has the chance to stay healthy and happy at home with the people who love them.

​

At home, Dr. Southerland is a DIY enthusiast who loves a good home improvement project. She shares her life with her family and two dogs, Beauregard and Dak.

Dr. Paul Meade

DVM

Dr. Paul Meade earned his Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree from the University of Illinois College of Veterinary Medicine after graduating from the University of Georgia with degrees in Biological Science and Entomology.

​

Founded in 1985 by his father, Dr. Thomas Meade, Lebanon Animal Hospital has long been a cornerstone of the community. Dr. Paul Meade had the opportunity to work alongside his father for several years before Dr. Tom Meade’s retirement in 2023. He now serves as the owner of both Lebanon Animal Hospital and Salt Run Veterinary Clinic, continuing a legacy of compassionate, high-quality veterinary care.

When he’s not working, Dr. Meade enjoys spending time with his family, including his wife, children, two dogs, and two cats. He enjoys working outdoors, staying active with CrossFit, and cheering on local teams — especially the Bengals and the Reds!
